Happy Theme Day
SS Minmi.
The Minmi, a collier was on its way from Melbourne to Newcastle when it hit the outside of
Cape Banks on 13 May 1937.
The main hulk of the wreck now lies above high water mark on the rock platform of Cape Banks,
the north head of Botany Bay.

ReplyDeleteRusr is such a classic symbol of decay! Funny how something that is decaying can be so visually attractive.
ReplyDeleteI guess you can get on it to get this close.
ReplyDeleteAnother solid rust bucket
ReplyDeleteThis thing survived a lot of time by the salt water...
ReplyDeleteTime and salt water have taken their toll on this remnant.
ReplyDeleteOooh what a fabulous photo!
ReplyDeleteIt looks antique, some roman galley from 2000 years ago...Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour header is fantastic, btw!
ReplyDeleteA lot of people will just passed without noticing the beauty of such fittings, I like it!

ReplyDeleteA little history with that decay!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful theme day shot.
ReplyDeleteIron, sea air, and water + decay. Quite the combination and good post for theme day.
ReplyDeleteYep, I agree with them all. The colour and the composition are both superb! The flaking texture of the metal proves that even something that solid is eventually regained by mother nature. She is a very tough old woman, MN!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your contribution to our Theme Day ... and for all your visiting and your commenting. I appreciate it very much.
Decay is an art of nature.....Nice light, color and texture!
