Stockton NSW
I have been wanting to visit Stockton cemetery for a few years now, to visit my Paternal Grandmother. Sunday seemed like the perfect day as it would have been my late fathers birthday.
I know the Section and the grave number, but apart from the above map there are no other markings.
As I walked around I asked Maud to send me a sign, you know like a willy wag tail or a swallow, but I get an eagle. But he was no help to me either.
I have contacted the council but am still waiting a reply as I would like to be able to give Maud the recognition she deserves.
See here on the right, this is new headstone that has been laid. If they could find their grave in this patch of lawn so can I. It also looks affordable.
If you look you can see it again just off centre.
This is the area I feel Maud may be.
Maud's daughter Mary erected a cross all those years
ago, I did wonder if maybe the timber cross did survive, but I doubt it.

Or she maybe here? Time will tell and hopefully next time I head to Stockton I will be able to lay flowers.

Silver Beach Kurnell
Silver Beach at Kurnell is characterised by 14 rock wall (groynes) which project into Botany Bay. The first eight of these groynes were constructed in 1969-70 in response to severe beach erosion.
Dog off leash is allowed on this beach between the third and fourth groynes (jetties) from the western end.
Above is Finnegan enjoying the area, a while back.

Elizabeth Street
Looking north along Elizabeth Street, you can just see a glimpse of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Elizabeth Street was originally known as Mulgrave Street, but was renamed by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1810 for his second wife, Elizabeth Henrietta Campbell (1778-1835).

Full Nest Again...
My eldest son just returned from a week down at the NSW snow fields, he took this photo especially for my blog.
It was taken with a little GoPro camera and he also apologized for the foggy look. The camera sits in a little plastic case and as he was holding it in his hands it fogged up.

Lake Burragorang
With the damming of the Warragamba River it formed Lake Burragorang, which is one of the largest reservoirs for urban water supply in the world.
Before the construction of the Dam, Burragorang Valley had been inhabited by white settlers since the 19th century. A number of farming towns (including the town of Burragorang) and coal mines were located in the area. All of these are now underwater.
These photos were taken from the lookout situated on the edge of a cliff at Nattai, approximately 40 minutes by car from Warragamba dam.

Conjola General Cemetery circa 1890
We have driven past this little cemetery many times and have always vowed to one day stop and wonder around. Finally we did. The first thing that took my eye were the daffodils sprouting up out of one grave, straight away I said to my husband that is what I want.
This sculpture was upon another...
A tear was shed on reading this, a young man who never returned from a drive.
These new graves are of early 1900 burials to think someone cares enough to have at least 10 old graves refurbished is wonderful in my eyes.
I was so glad we stopped in as it made more determined to have my Grandmothers life acknowledged with a monument of some sort in Stockton.
This is my contribution to Julies Taphophile Tragics page.

Warragamba Dam 1
Located about 65 kilometres west of Sydney in a narrow gorge on the Warragamba River, Warragamba Dam is one of the largest domestic water supply dams in the world.
Water is collected from the catchments of the Wollondilly and Coxs River systems covering an area of 9,050 square kilometres to form Lake Burragorang and Warragamba Dam.
