Fort Street Public School

Fort Street Public School
Fort Street National School was established in 1849 at the old military hospital, which is now part of the National Trust Headquarters, a short walk south of the current school setting. It was one of the first public schools in Australia and known to locals in Sydney as "the school on the hill.

Very wet at the moment in Sydney...

  1. How many times have I driven around the Cahill and not realised this is the original Fort St School. Spectacular perspective Jo.

  3. Jo, I am beginning to think your blog should be named "A Birds Eye View of Sydney: So many of your images are from lofty heights ... and hence a perspective we often don't know of.

  5. Ahha! Have just caught up with this post, Jo. I am away a lot of the time at the moment, and without internet access, which is a pity as I travel alone and by train, so time is plentiful.

However, this is a wonderful shot! Such a wonderful shot, and as the others have said, the perspective is to die for.
