There used to be a hotel on the Blakehurst side - Tom Ugly's Hotel - owned at the time of my childhood in the area, by my great-aunt Florence Westbrook. On her death it was bought by the Air Force Association and then raffled. I don't know what happened after that. I have travelled over that bridge many times, it formed a well-remembered part of a young life spent at Kyle Bay then Gymea Bay. And I love your photograph of it! :-)
I like the angle that you've taken these from. "The Shire" is in the news at the moment.
