Lake Burragorang

With the damming  of the Warragamba River it formed Lake Burragorang, which is one of the largest reservoirs for urban water supply in the world.

Before the construction of the Dam, Burragorang Valley had been inhabited by white settlers since the 19th century. A number of farming towns (including the town of Burragorang) and coal mines were located in the area. All of these are now underwater.

These photos were taken from the lookout situated on the edge of a cliff at Nattai, approximately 40 minutes by car from Warragamba  dam.
